Content Optimization Tips To Make Blog Posts Effective
Creating quality and useful content for your readers is the most important factor that will decide your blogging career. You may be good at content marketing, but you will hardly see any growth unless there is something compelling to your readers.
Social media has emerged as the best marketing tool where your articles can go viral, bring thousands of traffic, give you loyal readers for lifetime, or increase your email subscriber lists. But none-of-these is possible without quality.
Effective Ways to Generate Topics to Write on Your Blog
Moreover, there are so many articles online, and it adds to the difficulty of choosing a great article to write. The topics you might think of are probably already published on other websites. If not, you might have already shared the same story on your blog. Of course, you do not want your visitors to read the same topic over and over, right?
To solve your problem, here are few effective ways for you to generate interesting topics that readers will actually love:

A Simple Traffic Generation Strategy You’re Probably Not Using – Take It!
This is a strategy for boosting traffic and exposure to your site that I came up with on the fly during a recent SPI fan meetup. After sharing it, everyone was pretty stoked about it, so I’m happy to pass it along to you.
Here’s what to do, why this will work, and some follow-up notes to help you get the most out of it.
4 Steps to Increase Your Blog Traffic
One of the most common complaints that I hear from bloggers is the fact that no matter how hard they try, they can’t grow their blogs past 100 or so daily page vies. Those early days are indeed the hardest, because you need to put hard work in without the certainty of achieving results.
If you are in that same situation, here is a simple strategy that will certainly increase your blog traffic and make you break the 1,000 daily page views mark. In fact, the strategy could be used even if your are already over that number but have reached a traffic plateau lately.
Just make sure to execute the 4 steps as planned and to spend the two hours and a half every day (obviously if you have more time available you can expand the time spent on each of the four steps proportionally).

Today, we have some guidelines for you from Google, explaining which fields in sitemaps are important, when to use XML Sitemaps and RSS/Atom feeds, and how to optimize then for Google.Beginner’s Steps into Blogging
Bringing your writing skill to the worldwide web can give you a stage for fame. For years, blogging is considered a form of self-expression through the articles posted. With large number of free blog providers, it’s easy for you to start blogging. You can share your thoughts and opinions through your articles. If your articles are taking public’s interest, it won’t be surprising for you to get some splash of fame.
Top 5 ways to promote blog posts
Promoting the content is a key aspect to every blogger. The right content shared on right places has greater influence on search engine rankings rather than spamming the link everywhere. It is not confined to search engine rankings alone. Your posts would be noticed soon which results in quality readership. On the other hand I have seen some newbies indulging in spamming.
In the other words spam is nothing but posting the links to irrelevant groups, communities and people. Search engines hates spam and may penalize your site from showing on the search results. And where you will use h1 tag , h2 tag etc ?Therefore , once you learned all these steps you can optimized your new blog / website very easily by implementing the techniques. In this article ,we will discuss all the SEO tips and tricks for starting a new website / blog .

SEO For A New Website/Blog
- First of all decide the platform / technology to use for your website i.e either go for Blogger or WordPress which are the two well known and friendly CMS in the world.I will suggest Blogger for newbies because it's very easy to play with it.And if you have some taste of Code and want something big to archive then say no to Blogger and run for WordPress.
- Design a website but Responsive ! Actually this is the era of iPhones , iPad , Tablets , and Smartphones , having a responsive website / blog will help your smartphones visitors to easily navigate through your blog and will love to stay there. So make sure the theme / template you are using is responsive.
- The third step is purchasing a domain name and hosting , now where to buy ? Where to trust ? That's great. I will prefer Namesilo via GoDaddy , actually Godaddy got viral in few years but now they are kicking their customers.I bought a domain from them , and they deleted my domain without any reason , and now they have listed it in their premium listings for 100$ , i will say WTH is that? Actually i am not compelling you to buy domain from Namesilo but i give you that advice now it's your choice where to trust!
- Buying a domain and having no idea about naming ? Well , Do keyword research first for the domain you are buying ! If your domain name is a specific keyword you want to rank , it will easily be ranked.
- Jump Back to the step two and come back here ! Done ? Okay .. Now after a cool responsive design focus on the navigational structure of your website .Actually this is the main thing the users will interact with your website / blog.Having a well organized navigation menu and clear categories names will help your visitors to navigate via your blog easily and once the visitors are happy the Google is Happy!
- After implementing all the above steps focus on sitemap.Actually sitemap is the collection of URLs for your blog / website in the form of xml file. The sitemap is extremely useful if the sites are new ones , it allows you to submit all the links of your site to Search engines for crawling. Now how to generate Sitemap? If you are on Blogger first submit your Blog to Webmaster tools after that go to http://ctrlq.org/blogger/ and type your Blog url and click on generate sitemap.Once Done Copy the xml part as shown in the below snapshot.
- Now After copying the xml part go to webmaster otools , and select your Blog . Now Click On Add sitemap as shown below and paste the xml part over there and hit submit sitemap as shown.Actually you can submit any site Sitemap to google webmaster just by entering the file name in the field (xml part goes here) like if you have a website sitemap (example.com/sitemap.xml) just add sitemap.xml in your google sitemap section that's it.
- It will give you a message of Pending , just wait for 12 hours and it will be live there. That's it!
- FOR WordPress use this Plugin http://yoast.com/WordPress/SEO , this plugin will help you in optimizing your Blog / Site SEO for sure.
- And if you are on any other CMS you can use www.web-site-map.com/ to generate your site sitemap. After generating this site will give you an xml file , just upload it to the root directory of your site. That's it.
- 301 and 302 Redirects ! Okay now what this sh*t is? Actually redirect means to forward an URL to another URL .There are two types of redirects 1) 301 Redirect - It is used for pages which has been moved permanently and 2)302 Redirect - this is for pages which are moved temporarily .Actually in these cases the search engines will replace the moved pages with the new ones . But if you have implemented the 302 redirect the search engine may not replace your site page Now how to Do that? At the Server Level (.htaccess file) by adding the following line :
Redirect 301 / OldPage http://www.yourdomain.com/newPage
- And If you are the WordPress CMS , just install the redirection Plugin and that's it.
- Another important Tip is removing 404 errors ! Now what 404 error is ? Actually whenever you remove a post / page from your website and visitor hit that page so he/she will found a new page , that the requested resource was not found on the server! These errors are very bad for the user experience on the website. These links are also bad for traffic and ranking . First of all we will learn where to find these 404 errors? Actually you will have to visit your site Google Webmaster tools and at the left side select CRAWL from the menu and then Crawl errors , there you will get all these links. Now How to fix these errors ? Well , i will say implement a 301 redirect from the Old Version of the page to the new version. All Bloggers just checkout my post "Replace Blogger 404 Page with beautiful Search box".
- URL (Uniform Resource Locator) , actually url plays an important role in indexing your site posts .It is shown just below the title tag in search engine ! Okay i got it , it's important now how to work with it? What should it look Like ? Well , Never exceed the length of URL from 3 words , some SEO experts are ranging it from 3-5 but i will say 3 or 4 words is the best option. Also never use extremely long URL , use the focused keywords in the URL , it will be better if it is unique.Use - (dashes) between words so it is treated as space between two words by the Search Engines. In the URL never use uppercases , always use lowercases. Take a look on the below Quoted URLs
The Good URLwww.example.com/pakistan-tourists-guide/pakistan-map/THE BAD URLwww.example.com/pakistan1/article.htmlwww.example.com/india1/post.php?id=24&title=abc
- The last and most important tip i am sharing isINTERNAL LINKING which is the key for ranging.Actually it is a type of hyperlink which improves visitors engagement on your website .Let suppose you are posting about Blogging and you have another post which is related to Blogging and you mentioned that link in your recent post that is called internal linking.Actually internal linking helps and navigate the search engines and humans to discovers your website easily.By visitors engagement number of pages per visit , time on site and conversions will increase which will decrease the bounce rate which is a positive effect in SEO for your site.

- From the above Structure you may have guessed what to DO ? Still nah ? Well , let me elaborate it , use specific keywords in the Anchor text . We Called it Rich Keyword Anchor text, but remember don't increase the density ! I mean don't start adding the same keyword in every post but with variation.Use Synonyms and replace the keywords with the new in each new anchor text.
So what's up ? Rome was not built in a day , of-course SEO is not the game of 2 or 3 days it is the 2nd name of wait and patience! Implement all the above Steps and you will see 100% results.Stay tuned for more fantastic posts about SEO , Happy Blogging!

How to add Description Meta tag to Blogger
Adding Description Meta tag is one of the goodSEO practices. These tags are HTML attributes which tell the search engines about the content of the page and describes it. Description tags don’t helps in ranking high within search result pages but helps in good clickthrough rates.
Many years back, search engines used to show the result snippets of these Description Meta tags but recently some search engines, like Google, shows preview snippets depending on user searches.
Just like any other top CMS, like WordPress.org, blogs powered by Blogger also have the feature to add Description Meta tags to every page, you just need to enable some settings, in this tutorial let us see how.
Check for the required codes
First and foremost thing that you should do is to check for the required code which will actually add the Description Meta tags within your Blogger templates. So go to “Template” tab of your blog from the dashboard and then click “Edit HTML” button. Now find the the below code:
<b:include data='blog' name='all-head-content'/>
If the above code is there then you don’t have to add any other codes. But if you have edited and customized your templates where the above cannot be found then only add the below codes after
<head>.<b:if cond='data:blog.metaDescription != ""'>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.metaDescription' name='description'/>
</b:if>
Turning the feature On
From your blog’s dashboard go to Settings > “Search Preferences” tab > Meta tags > Description > click “Edit” and select “Yes” for “Enable search description?”. Within the textarea write a brief description about your blog. This will add description Meta tag to the homepage.

Note: Whether you write something on the textarea or not, don’t forget to click the “Save” button, otherwise you will not be able add Meta tags to your posts.
Adding Description Meta tag to Posts and Static Pages
While writing a new post from Blogger Post Editor, find for “Search description” on right-hand side panel under Post Settings. Click it and a box will open where you can write a very brief description about your post, click Done and then if you think that your article is ready to get published, click the “Publish” button. This will add description Meta tag to your post. The same way, you can also add Meta description tags to your older posts by editing them.

How many words?
Description Meta tags should not be too long or too short. The best is if you keep it under 160 characters but above 85 characters, including spaces of course.
Things to remember:
- To generate search result snippets Description Meta tags are not needed but it is good to provide one for every page.
- It should be concise and accurate.
- As told earlier, it doesn’t help you in ranking high in SERP. Good traffic comes from writing good and original articles and following some SEO guidelines.

Double Your Blog Traffic with Long Tail Keywords
Are you having trouble ranking in the search engines or increasing your overall blog traffic?
If so, maybe it’s time you stop focusing on generic keywords ad start to explore the world of long tail keywords using long tail pro.
What are long tail keywords you ask?
Here’s a simple way to explain it… “wordpress” is a generic search term. If you search for it in Google you will find various topics. Now if you were to search for “free wordpress installation service”, that’s a long tail keyword and if you search for it, you know exactly what you are looking for.
What are long tail keywords better than generic keywords?
Easy!
Not only are they much easier to rank for, but they are super targeted in comparison to generic keywords.
Let’s use “wordpress” again as an example and see how it stacks up in comparison to other long tail variations of the keyword when using Google Keyword Tool.
What you can learn from this is that you can write articles, format titles and focus the efforts of your backlink building to these terms and have a much better chance at ranking in the search results.
Yes, many of these keywords have a low amount of search volume, but they are much more targeted.
If someone is searching for “wordpress setup service” you can be they are looking to have a wordpress blog setup!
Find the Best Long Tail Keywords with Long Tail Pro
One of my favorite software programs out there is called Long Tail Pro, which allows you to look up long tail keywords. It works much like Google Keyword Tool but it also provides you with an competition score, which tells you how hard or easy it will be for you to rank in the search results.
You can see a screenshot of the Long Tail Pro results below, using the same keywords we mentioned above.
You can see from the chart above that some of these keywords are very easy to rank for. Easy to rank for keywords are in the 20-30 range, medium competition is in the 30-40 range and anything above 50 is quite competitive.
Again, it is important to note that the volume on these search phrases is low, but if you were able to rank on the first page for some of these terms, you would be bringing in some very highly targeted traffic to your site month after month.
Also if you do the work to target high paying keywords, such as “hosting” related keywords, this could result in a few hundred to a few thousands extra dollars per months.
This is one of the major reasons why it’s important to look at the overall value of your long term keywords and not just the amount of people who are searching for the keywords in a given month.
Features of Long Tail Pro
Here are a quick features and review of long tail pro keyword research tool.
Quick 5 Minute Step: You can setup long tail pro within few mintues, You can quickly get targeted traffic, lead generation made easy!
Simple: Easy to use, allows you to create targeted campaigns and research competitors.
Effective Optimization: You can use long tail pro keyword research tool to get any type of business result you want. Easy to use.
Even Google Wants You to Use Long Tail Keywords
Yes, it’s true! Even Google prefers that users of their search engines use long tail keywords over generic search terms.
It provides better search results for the people using Google, and especially for the advertisers of the search engine as well.
Just take a look at the screenshot below and see how Google lists a bunch of long tail variations for you to choose from at the bottom of each search page.
Start Incorporating Long Tail Keywords into Your Blog
There are many free tools out there like Google Keyword Tool, Google Analytics and free trial versions of Long Tail Pro that will allow you to analyze the type of traffic and search terms people are using to get to your site.
For all of these reasons and many more, you should be using long tail keywords to write better content for your site, target your content better to your audience and rank higher in the search engines.
